The lack of a consistent navigational system is confusing and makes the site easy to get lost within. The purpose of all media is to communicate to an audience. My approach to this project is to create a Flash web site that includes all the basic areas of the current Monster.com site, but to improve the user experience and interaction within the entire project. I do not intend to create the true functionality, only a representation of such. To communicate better to an audience and keep the focus of the site on the text driven content, not the visual experience of Monster.com is my objective to this project.

The basis for doing Monster.com came from our class researching various sites Monster.com included. Our research brought out various problems with sites used by thousands of people. We looked at navigation, layout, functionality, and the overall user experience. Monster.com failed to perform adequately in most categories. Navigation was repetitive and confusing, layout was overwhelmingly text driven, with little use of negative space or design in general, and the user experience was frustrating. Various responses were spoken of about how to navigate to key locations such as the E-commerce area, and consistency of navigation failed completely.
